 Topic: 180 fuel line

I bought a 180 last year, a basket case, but I needed the engine. I'm just getting around to fixing the issues before we swap it into a 185. So the things I'm wondering is that it surges, enough to bother me. I put a new fuel filter on it and next I wanna do valves. So I'm wondering what the gap should be. Also does anyone have a 180 service manual PDF that they could send me? THanks in advance.

Set valves at .018 cold. Send the pump to Ed. on this sight. Weight retainer is wearing out. MACK

good point, the 185 pump would be the one to rebuild, since you're putting the engine into a 185 if I read that right. The pump is basically the main difference from a 180 to a 185 as far as engine performance goes. The 180 was rated at 2000, 185 2200, and slightly more fuel.

The 185 runs as of now but smokes severely, and has a knock that we think is broken piston skirt, the plan is get the 180 engine fixed up decent for the 185 as the tranny isn't the best any more. And then rebuild the 185 engine for another project.

I got the valves adjusted tonight, .018 cold. It runs way better, but while cleaning it I noticed that the front injector and the line along the top of the injectors going to the tank were leaking fuel.

The line that goes along the top of the injectors from pump to tank is leaking where there are two little rubber hose pieces in it. Is this just hose i can replace or is it a special hose type. TIA

The hose isn't anything special,but it needs to be rated for fuel and not just something for water. Most any automotive parts store will have what you need.
