We just purchased this head.  As we are going through it we found that two snapping rolls are hitting, slipping the clutch.  All we have is an operators manual for the corn head to go by at this point.  Is there a roll pin to knock out?  How do you remove the snapping roll.  One of the rolls seems to have much more play before being driven, which by that time causes it to hit the other roll  Thank and any help would be appreciated.

Joel

Those orange heads are built from the center out. We replaced an entire row before. Torched our way in then welded our way back out. Have fun.

Seems to me there is a plate at the top of the rolls that is held in place with a rather large allen-headed machine screw, once that's off, should be able to see things then

I have an orange head I need rid of. Was in excellent mechanical condition when we changed heads if you need some parts. Scrap metal price...

Those orange ones are hell, like someone said... There is a plate that the rolls are attached to. Cast bearing housing bolts to it.... no fun at all...
