The water pump on my B Froze up. So I took it off the tractor today. How does one get the pulley off. I am not the most gifted mechanic but can usually get by enough to keep it running. What are the two bolts with nuts sticking out of the pulley. Do I need to remove them or are they for some type of pulley adjustment. Also, from the pictures I am copying can anyone tell me which new water pump to order. When looking at the after market pumps I see several options, some say with sheet metal pulley so say with bypass plug and others with back plate and gasket. If there is a shop I can just send what I have to and they remove the pulley, rebuild the pump and reinstall the pulley and mail back I am good with that also.

Take the 4 bolts out, pulley should come off with a bump on the center. The 2 bolts w/nuts are to adjust the pulley width, shouldn't have to move them if you have an alternator or generator. Call OK Tractor for new water pump and Jim can answer any questions about different water pumps. Tim

when you have the pump off, look at the back and you will see the "plate"... if you don't get a new one, you need to remove the old and will need a new gasket..... the bypass is for the D10-12 tractors--- you can plug that if you get that version..... I have tried to "rebuild" and generally you can buy new for cheaper.... labor is expensive.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

The shop manual that I have on line for the G, B, C, and CA might help.

Check e-bay, I purchased a new (clone) water pump for $69. They are not worth rebuilding as requires special tools.
