Anyone ever use Chrysler or continental flathead 6 rods in an offset grind? I have some here that are about 7.75 long and have about 1 15/16. Journal. That's only 1/16 smaller than a buda and is just a little lighter duty.

Andy I am trying to deal with a fellow friend on tooling up to make some aluminum rods with the 1.880 journal in a couple of different lengths. A fellow could pick up .495 stroke without welding and be standard on the bearing. go 20 under and get the half inch.

Yeah, I had an old Sharps motor, 360 cubes 9 to 1 with aluminum rods with a 1.75 journal. It lasted 7 years till MY, MY, MY mistake took out the crank. But it was a lugger. Still, 1.88 journal is a little small to my taste. I'd like to stay around 2 inches. I'd like to find a set of aluminum rods to make an offset combo out of, but unless they around around $4-500 (which I can't see how they will be) I personally can afford it, and will have to stick to (free) chrysler rods. Of course, they wont have the strengeth the aluminum ones will have either..
