Guys, just a note to remind us all to lay out your wishes and what you want done with your assets.
We have had cancer pop up in the family and both parents diagnosed within the last year. Brother was then diagnosed in December and he nor his immediate family would accept the fact that he was terminal. I just returned as I ran up to see him and he passed peacefully Friday morning at his home, only 59 years old. When asked about the shop he started building about ten years ago for his snowmobile collection, his son took me to the large locked shop down from the house and opened the door to show me my brother's pride and joy. We had a Polaris dealership on one side of the family and an A-C dealership on the other so we always had plenty of both going back to the 50's. I had not talked much with this brother the last five years as we all get busy . . . . Imagine my surprise to see over 80 restored Polaris snowmobiles, from a number of early rear engine (even an articulated unit I never knew Polaris made), factory racing Starfires and units up into the 90's. All restored to pristine original condition with another 25 unfinished found at one of his other shops off site. Between selling his tire business, camp on the lake and a number of other assets, his son advised the snowmobile warehouse will be locked up until they feel they can deal with it someday with an appraiser. I am currently reviewing everything I have and making lists myself . . . |

Tim I'm sorry for the loss of your brother and thanks for the reminder that we all need to have our ducks in a row so we don't burden others with what to do with our "stuff" after we are gone.

Sorry for your loss. Dad lost his brother at a young age, and it hit him pretty hard.
Yep, getting everything lined out is very important. I'm thinking what I'll eventually do is gather all my heirs together, then write down who all wants what. I would want to make people happy by giving them what they want most, and try to prevent what I'm going through now after the passing of one of my grandfathers. Then if two people want the same piece, play favorites. I'll be dead when they find out anyway. Lol

My condolences Tim for your loss. He went quickly which I would say is a God send. He didn't suffer too long. My dad passed in his early 50s too, but he had some time to spend with us and get his ducks in order. He suffered for a little over a year.
May God smile on you and help you through this trying time. Remember, you can get on here and pour your heart out, we're all a big family........ |
