We just bought 6 acres of wooded property with quite a bit of road frontage that I will want to keep neatly cut, plus all the other fun stuff a small tractor can do. We found an AC616 pretty close to us, 80 miles, it's a 616 but has a new 22hp predator engine installed, has a receiver hitch draw bar and a cutting deck that has an OAW of 72" (not sure of cut width) anyway went and paid $1000 down and I want to go pick it up Sunday and pay the $800 balance. I'm trying to source a trailer that will allow me to move it without removing the deck. I know OAL is 83", width is 48", and it weighs 1500+ pounds.
Can anyone tell me what the wheel base is center to center of the tires, from the pictures I took it looks like front and rear tires track pretty much the same. I have 1 4X8 flatbed trailer that I would like to mod and make it purpose built just for this machine.
Any help is much appreciated.

you will like that tractor,         the 720 parts tractor that i got had a stripe on the fender must have been a sertian model

I hauled a 620 without the deck in the back of a chevy 2500 short bed truck. Had it backed in.
A little history for you.
That tractor belonged to a friend of mine in
N.Georgia. He sold it to a man by Chipley Fl. then it went to the guy in Crestview. The stripes were put on after it was sold a couple months ago in Chipley.
My friend can tell you all the ins and outs of the tractor as well as other history on it. He did a few mods on it while owning it. I can put you in contact with him if you would like.
He may chime in as he is on the forum from time to time.

That sure does sound like it, I think the guy in Crestview rebuilds lawn tractors as a hobby as he did have several others. I'm pretty sure he painted it, it looks more orange in person, than in the pics. Yes I would appreciate learning all I could about it's history, so excited to go after it this weekend. I drive a full size Dodge van, so trailers are a necessity, and I'm trailer poor, 5x10 w/sides, 4x8 w/sides, horse trailer, and the land we just bought had a 4x8 flat trailer on it that I thought I was going to re-purpose, I finally went and loaded it on another trailer and got it home. Not salvageable, I removed axle and beefed it up last night at work, this morning when I got home I removed all the parts I could use to build a new one; springs/hangers, jack, chains, wires, 4- 4' pieces of angle iron. Tonight I weld!

I can tell you that, that tractor will fit on 6X12 trailer, that is what I hauled it with. you only have a half inch on each side with the deck on.  The deck cuts 60 inches. Asked the guy about the rear power take off clutch, someone put that engine in it and could not figure how to connect the clutch.   I see him advertising the clutch for $40.00, maybe you could figure out how to hook it up, the rear PTO did work when I had it.

I know about the rear PTO, he has a new one, I think he's selling the takeoff part, I seen that as well. I do industrial maintenance so if there is a way to figure it out, I will. Problem using the rear PTO is finding implements that run 2000rpm.
I just made a 47.5x 96" frame, I work 12hr night shifts, I do fix some stuff on my shift, but I'm here mainly to start everything for the day shift. Full access to tools and materials, I will get my spring hangers and tongue finished between tonight and tomorrows shift, and any other details can be addressed at home, with the ole Lincoln tomb-stone.
My new "C' rated ST tires came today, so I'll mount them this weekend as well. I think my worse case would be not going Sunday, but my next day off is Wed.
I have picked up a shop manual, but it covers the Onan engines. I feel excited, like I'm getting into a new hobby!

Okay from what I think I've learned since yesterday, is that to run an electric PTO clutch it requires a longer crankshaft, does that sound right? 
The guy I'm buying the tractor from has the original Onan 16hp engine for sale now, and I see he's come down on his price of $250 to $150, is this something I should go ahead and get as well? He just told me it was running when he changed engines and since this one has been stored, covered up, it was filled 90 weight oil, to preserve it, and he says he drained gas from carb and put in "carb oil"??
I'm just thinking about being able to use rear PTO if I do happen across a 2000rpm bush-hog or tiller.

From what I understand the onan engine that was in it was getting tired. Parts are getting hard
To get for the onan.
It would be nice to have the original engine though. The seller may not know about any issues with the onan.
Try talking to him about it and hopefully he will let the motor and the clutch go with it too. He's making a very good profit of it now. It wouldn't hurt to ask.
The predator engine was in it when he got it from the man by Chipley that's why I'm saying he may not know anything about the onan.

We finally got it home, not that EZ (lost a trailer wheel bout 10 miles from home) but I did get the other clutch, manuals, glass fuel bowl, and an extra set of blades. He had 3-4 more garden tractors since I was there last. 1 with a 16hp Onan so he wasn't coming off the old one, but I did inform him it was tired. He was told by the guy in Chipley that he was the original owner. I did cut 2-3 passes then it stalled and when I restarted it, it would not engage the front PTO/mower deck??
I did look and see that the belt was still there, but that was all.
This is a Hoss, I can't wait to get to it and start working it!

Can't believe everything a seller tells you. I was the 3rd owner, the red paint on the 3 pt hitch is from the guy that owned it before me, I asked him why, and he said he was color blind.  A bit of info, the front axle has studs and lug nuts, those I installed after the wheel fell off, original are like all other Allis's (stuts) , it has a dent in the left rear fender on the left side.  I built that 3pt hitch unit, am going to try to send pic of the tractor with the hitch.  That is a nice unit, but the seller is blowing smoke.

I would take the horse trailer I bet you could just drop the rear ramp and drive it inside. I moved my uncles tractor with a snow blower with my stock trailer the other day. The stock trailer has a door that swings to one side so I jacked it up as much as I could then setup a couple of planks for a ramp I was able to load the tractor without having to remove the snow blower which had very little clearance.   The good thing about stock trailers is they are low.
