If it wasn't so much hassle Id pull my high crop gears out of my WC and sale to you. Unless you have a stock motor running 38 inch tires I wouldn't wast your money. Your going to spend anywhere from $500 to $1000 on them that you could put in the motor. I've got a 240 that I pull and never pull under second gear unless I'm pulling in the 5500lbs which doesn't happen often. My opinion unless you pull on nothing but the hard hooking tracks they just slow you down to much, when you start to spin u lose all ur forward momentum and spin out. But if that's what you want that's what you want I was the same way two years ago. The step down are hard to find and if been told they don't hold much power. Rc gears are more work then people think to get them to hold so if you must I would go high crop gears. They go in with no mods and are the strongest.

I agree, more motor and tall gears hook better.I have a stock d17 motor, it lugs hard at 4500 but has plenty of power with the 14.9-28s.
I might just have my 28s cut and see how it does. It wont spin out in second. I was thinking of going 38s thats why I thought about gears. |
