Anyone ever replace brakes on a 170? Will the the axel support casting clear the lift cyd.and hose or do I have to remove the cyd.? To me it looks like it will not come out with the cyd in place. For 3 days I have tried to remove the pin with Kroil,Big hammer Heat and an Air chisel with no luck. This pin needs no retainer clips! I even tried to center punch it to drill it out and that pin is Hard! Any other suggestions as I have a brake that is froze up and has a broken activator rod. EVERY THING on tractor is Rusty and Frozen in Place! Kurt

Drive out the pin at the lift arm and drop the cylinder down as far as it will go. Remove the hose and the elbow fitting from the cylinder barrel. The axle WILL clear (barely).
