It's funny, how when someone starts an untruth like that, how long it hangs on as a truth. That's why there is a W-226(WD-45) engine and a G-226(D-17/170/175/Gleaner E) engine. They are NOT the same engine assembly, and the main bearing diameter was the most notable change.

Did the thrust main get moved from where it was on the W engine to a different journal when the G engine was produced?
