opinions.....which tire would you prefer for pulling? and why?
first pic is a 13.6 safemark; old tire, hard, 23 degree
2nd pic is a 14.9 titan short bar / long bar, pretty hard, not as old as safemark
if you prefer the titan because its a 14.9, which would you prefer if they were both same size?

I don't like how long bar shirt bar pull. The 14.9 aspect is nice but the safemarks are good pullers. That's what was on my WC puller. .13.6x38 topcuts

my experiance is that old hard tires just dont get traction like new soft rubber dosnt matter if you are in the field or on the track you can make tires hard with more air or wider rims to pull that side wall out and flatten the tread dont know what rules say about rims

It really depends on track conditions but a hard tire is far better for pulling tractor. New and or soft tire lugs roll really bad then flick up the dirt and that piles up in front of the sled. Ive never till now heard of a new tire pulling better. I had a set on my tractor when I got it and actually watched a video of them in action versus a old decrepit wore out tire..The old tire pulled way further. unless your in mud or in a rice and cane feild there's no need for a lug because you don't wanna dig down,it lowers your pulling point. The list goes on and on. My preference personally would be the safeway because of tread pattern. Those 23's pull good.

old worn out road sharp 45 degree stones,about 6-7 psi,15.5x38,be ready for traction!

I've been running whatever cheap to buy tire i can. The first 15.5-38s were firestone 45 deg. Then goodyear traction torque , I have pulled a set of 13.6-38 cut goodyears and have done well. But most classes don't allow cut tires. My colection of availible tires to try are 14.9-38 goodyear traction torque, firestone heavy duty field and road 15.5-38, and a pair of Armstrong 15.5-38 tires 30 degree. this next year im going to swap and or switch at least 3 sets of tires on 3 differn't tractors. To see if i can inprove or meet class rules.
