Will the Gemmer and Ross steering gear interchange? Thanks.

the parts can not be mixed and matched, but you can take one box off and just slide the next one on. I have never had a problem attaching the arm, but have heard some say one of the output shafts is missing a spline for alignment. You might need to do a little "fix", but i have had no problems to date.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Steve (Ill) Thanks for the reply. Have never had a Ross open are they similar? From what I can tell from the IT repair manual the Ross looks a little more complex.. The '49 with the Ross gear is hard to steer, but if I loosen the adjustment from behind the starter it has quite a bit of loose motion in the steering. Was thinking of replacing with a Gemmer from a '39 I am restoring and at some point repair the Ross, however if the Ross is not to complicated I might just remove and repair and reinstall. Thanks.
