Thought I'd ask the question...
This is my D17 Series iv with a 519 loader. SN 88779. Bought the tractor from original owner in 2012. All original and straight! My Dad has a Series IV with a 417 loader and he put this loader on for me. I think of him when I see it and run it. Makes me so proud and thankful.

My pride and joy tractor? That's easy! My 4W-305 that I'm still looking for!!!
Of the ones that I have, probably my 8N. It's not that I like Fords better than A-C, but it's the one I've put a lot of time and effort into restoring. Makes me kinda proud. Besides, it's a "in the family" tractor.

That would be my serries 1 D17. My grandfather bought it used in the early 60s and it has been here on the farm ever since. I can't help but think about the fact that I am the third generation to farm these very same fields with it. Once I restore my farmall h that gramps bought new in 1950 that will probably change. I find a certain peace in the thought that those two tractors have been doing the job since before my time and with the work I have put into the d17 and will put into the h they could be doing the same work long after I am gone.

That is an easy one for me. The Allis A that I restored and always will be in my family as my daughter is going to have it next.

No question, the 1949 WD that my grandfather bought new in November 1949. It's still in the family and we still have the original bill of sale. Just got the engine running again and have been rebuilding and repainting it. Not done yet, but it's looking good so far.

Right now it it my D 15 II but if I get Dad's WD restored that will be number one. He bought it in October 1948 and I have the original bill of sale on it also.

Seems like whatever one I happen to be running at the time. Can't say that any one particular tractor is more special to me than another. I would suspect that my D 19 would probably be the last one I'd ever sell, cause it was the first allis I ever owned. Darrel

Good topic!
Guess mine would be my dad and moms 1950 WD. It stayed in the family at my uncle Jacks farm till I bought it a couple years ago. Just completed the restoration work this spring. Hope one of the kids, grand kids or great grand kids has as much fun with it as I have. I do remember driving it when I was a kid. As found: As restored. Second in line would be the wide front end WD from Jacks farm also. This one just seems to start and run real easy. Regards, Chris |

Almost like asking who is your favourite child. Regret that I don't have the only new tractor my Dad bought new in 1949 a WD. Have the first B and last D-15II sold by our local dealer. B was owned by a relative. D-21 ll was my first tractor 40 years ago. Have another now. Loved the D-21 doing field work but since I got a 220, it has become become my favourite in the field. It's a 17,000 lb 190 hp beast with 20.8 x 38 radial duals. D series are my pride and have them all. Also one of two known unstyled WC Speed Maintainer and TL-W loader. All my A-C's are my pride and joy!

For me, that is an easy one. Its my 1948 Allis WD. It was originally my grandpa's and for a short time my Dads. It wasn't my first tractor, but it was the first one I wanted as a kid. One day it will be my sons. I have other nicer tractors, but I still like that one the best.

My 58 D14 gets the nod here for the sentimental value it has for me. My grandfather bought this tractor in 1960 and has stayed in the family since then. I was riding on the tractor long before I could walk or talk. When I got old enough to reach the pedals I was using it for everything. My grandfather is long gone, but that tractor will never leave me. It's a great tractor to drive and it often acts bigger than it really is (although it is now living the retired life).

That would have to be my 1955 CA. It was my do everything tractor for years. Now it's not working so hard since I have the D14 to do the plowing. But it still pulls the harrow, disc, corn planter, potato digger and is used for just general all around work. Bob

It would have to be my 1950 b, nothing special about it. All it is, is the first tractor I ever worked on, and one of the first tractors my dad worked on. We restored it together, and have been working it ever since.

My favorite is a 1938 Massey Harris 101, It escaped the brake retro fit, so still has a brake pedal on each side of the platform. The Chrysler Flat head is so smooth and quiet from 20 feet at and idle you would swear it isn't running.
Second is my 1951 Massey Harris 44 the first antique tractor I bought to restore and it gave my pop's so much joy the last few years of his live. He had one when I was a kid but a trike model. I rescuded it from a JD dealer. Al |
