As far as your signature at the bottom, I think that's perfectly normal(unlessi'm crazy too. LOL). Biggest problem I have is keeping the wife out of my "tractor fund". She wants to spend it on frivolous crap, like the power bill, groceries, mortgage payment, stuff like that.
Looks really good. Wish my C was that nice.

I love it. I mow about 2 acres and had my fill of box store lawn mowers that have stamped frames, cheap electronics and no cool factor. I got this one from a guy who had it in a barn at the old home place. Had to chop through the head high horse weeds just to get to it. 2 row planter ( with markers on both sides ) 6' disc and a plow. Rebuilt the carb, had the tank boiled out and coated. I am having some charging issues with the generator, 3 position switch, or voltage reg / cut off switch? But it starts and runs like a champ. My brother has a C and a WD45 (Love the hand clutch) Looking for a 45 of my own now. More Overtime!!!!!!

Lucky rascal! I always wanted a nice barn find. All I can get are the "on the way to the scrap yard" rescues. LOL!
I kinda want a WD-45, but think i'd like a CA better for small gardenning and light work that I have time and room for.

My plan is to leave the mowing to the B and get something else to do the heavy work like plowing, grading. I would like to get a CA or a WD45 also with snap couplers. Taking the deck out from under the B to attach the mounted stuff is a job!

Tell me about the insurance! It doesn't get any cheaper for awhile either. Mine's 22 now. He still can hardly afford insurance in his name. That's the main reason why his truck is in my wifes' name and he's listed as a driver. It's much cheaper for him to pay us the difference than to get his own policy. I can understand high rates for a couple of years, but after 6 years with no bad driving record, cut somebody a break for Petes' sake!
Yeah, I would definitely like to get a CA. I know where one is, but don't know if it's SC or pin hitch. Belonged to friend of my grandad, who passed on a year ago. Just hate to go ask family to sell it, even though I know it will probly never be used again. Wasn't used the last few years he was alive.

WOW that pic was a little big! Yeah I think insurance is legalized gambling. Insurance company bets you wont have a accident, you bet you will, and guess what if you do they raise your rates. What a deal. And it is a state law here you haft to carry uninsured motorist insurance. It is also a law you haft to carry insurance on your car/truck. What a deal. I am thru venting....
I understand about not wanting to ask the family that can be uncomfortable, but they may want it to go to someone who will get it up and going instead of letting it set and rust.

Nice tractor, nice find. The belly mowers look like a handy setup. I always wondered how they act with the B clutch. If that plow is any good you will like it too. B is a great plowing machine.
That would not happen to be snap coupler B would it? If it has a coupler bell to fit under it like the WD45 you have a rare bird. |

Your charging issues could be as simple as the 3 pos. switch not being grounded. Make sure there isn't any rust, crud, or paint underneath where the switch mounts in the Ammeter box. If the switch can't find its ground it won't charge.....

I had today off so I decided to tackle the charging problem. I removed the voltage reg / cutoff switch and sanded all the conections to bare metal, removed the treminals and cleaned them. Opened up the box and removed the 3way switch, on the under side is a small "tube" that has a toaster type wre running through it. The wire is broken. Is this the resistor? |

I am thinking I will run 6V until the battery wont take a charge then switch to 12v. I have seen descusion on here about using a 3 wire alt for charging at low idle. But dont know wich way to go yet. |
