Someone will correct me if wrong but I didn't think they had 8 bolt on WC's and the one piece steel rims were 24" from 1938 and 1939.

That's correct the pressed steel WC rims were 24" & only 8" wide & would not work well with 16.9 tires. WC changed from 6 bolt to 8 bolt at the same time that they changed from hand brakes to foot brakes. That was when the WC became the WD in 1948!!

The original tire size for the WC was 11.25x24. That's the real old numbering system later called 13x24. The same size tire today would be 14.9x24. That's mounted on an 8" rim and the tires would stand taller because of the narrow rim but 16.9 would be a stretch on 8" rims I would think.

The hubs do not interchange, but there are both 6 bolt to 8 bolt and 6 bolt to 9 bolt wheel adaptors available. If no one responds on this site, post a request on the Tractor Puller section of the YT Mag site. Kip

i have a set of original stamped wc 24" rims for sale and i also have a very wide pair of 24" rims that have six loops in them.  centers could be made for these that would fit your wc with no problem.  email me if you are interested.  buckagg@yahoo.com
