There was a time when America needed hero’s , and there was John Wayne. For the price of a ticket, John would help you take over that next hill or get those cattle to Belle Fourche before the snow. Those actors were larger than life, and for a little while, they would make us better. Nothing would be impossible.

Today, America still needs her heroes. And tonight, I saw one. Tom Cruise once again climbed into a jet fighter and flew off of an aircraft carrier deck. Once again he made us believe. Some 30 years later but he still made us believe. The movie has nostalgic pieces such as his motorcycle, flight jacket, and a P 51 mustang. An F-14 tomcat makes an appearance and though you only get a quick glimpse of it, maybe an Allis Chalmers airplane tug.

Thank you, Tom Cruise.
