My RC is progressing slowly, but I finally got the proper front wheels on it today. There is still no electrical other than the battery and starter. With lights, generator, and PTO it will be almost there. It was in the low teens here but it started up OK, I'm sure it is a bit warmer in the shed but not much.

Hello Tom. If I am thinking of the right man, wasn't it you that posted before and after pictures of a WC parked just outside an old family barn? You have rebuilt a very nice tractor here. The RC and CA is on my someday wish list. Then we would have all of the C's

Thanks for the comments, yes my grandpa's WC was the tractor that started me on this fun. His first tractor was an RC so I thought I should get one, he traded the RC in on the WC I have. Since there were so few RCs made I suppose I have a 1 in 5500 chance I have his, far better than the lottery. Here is a picture of grandpa's RC back in the day, it is my pattern.
![]() This was earlier this fall after I was helping plow for this years Orange Spectacular, I'm sure the birds hit it at least a dozen times. I got hit three times while sitting on it. ![]() The videos of it getting this way can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/user/allis01 |

Tom, when I first saw your 45D at Hutch 3 yrs ago it was by far my favorite tractor at the show. You certainly go over the top with all your restorations, which is the only way to do it in my book...

The paint is PPG Delstar 60080, I doubt I can get the Delstar anymore though, the Napa by me that sold it no longer carries paint so I don't know what I'll get next time.
The two RCs I have are 1939 models, I don't know what model my grandpa's was. The earliest date written on a picture of it is 1940, but the picture of it being delivered is not dated. I think it could easily have been a 1939 model he had, but couldn't have been a 1941. The plow I used behind the RC in the videos was a one bottom steel wheeled Allis Chalmers plow that belongs to Matt Wosmek. I feel I need to get him some parts because the lift mechanism broke while I was plowing. I think I plowed 4 hours or more with it to get all the bird droppings, I remember thinking what it must have been like to plow a whole farm with something like that, the field turns black pretty slowly with a one bottom. |

Tom, just curious, did you upload pictures to your website, like other restorations you have done? And if so, could you post the link? Thanks!

You guys are too kind. I do have some pictures up on my web site for the RC, but I must say I have been really lax at updating it lately. I think the rearend may still be hanging from the shop crane in the RC section, but here is the link:
http://home.comcast.net/~old_allis/index.html You can get there by googling "old allis" I think my site may be the top hit. |
