Concerning the aspects of changing a dually pickup, to single rear wheel. Some have claimed there are spacers to remove, change brakes, etc. I say, if you want to keep the flaired fenders, just remove the tires from the inside dual, remount the inside rim, then remount the outer tire and rim just like before. The now single rear tires will set wider than the steer axle, but so what? Am I mistaken?

why would you remount the rims without tires on them ?? ... i would think you would want to move the rear tires INWARD a little bit ? ............ are you thinking the inner rim will protect the brake / caliper ?

Are no special spacers, axle housings are different, dually Pickup Wide spread rear is Wider and has longer axle shafts. Put single wheels on it will remain wide. To compensate for Inner dual tire from riding too close to springs.
The other concern is you now Offset the load to the wheel bearings. Dual Hubs the tires support equall mass against centerline of Hub, same is true for a single rear wheel axle hub.
Rear studs on my SD 250 are same length as for dually.

Seems if you go to rims for a single tire rear , the load would center on bearings and the clearances would be good , using the duel rims over to single would create offset which might become a issue .

standard rims off a single tire axle would probably look good and be best... but now you got rims that are not interchangeble front and rear...

My brother did this on a Dodge years ago. Take off all the offset wheels and the spacers from the front axle and put on single wheels all around, he used white spoke aftermarket wheels. He had a flatbed, so when done it looked no different than a 3/4 ton. This only works with a one ton pickup, if you have a one ton cab and chassis it has a narrow rear axle.

There’s a young man here running super singles, I questioned him at the fuel pump one time, he said it’s a scary ride in the rain, and useless on any thing but asphalt

Those that want to hide from DOT want single wheels all around. Anything that has Duals is almost always over 10,000 GVW and automatically need at least an annual FMCSA inspection, which very few have = Easy ticket.

So, with my F-350 dually, registered in my personal name, with regular ‘auto tags’(plates), that vehicle falls under FMCSA regulations?

SNEAKY way DOT has to include more truck into their system . Like a few years back friend who does salvage work had set of torches standing up in his bed . Got pulled over and made to go back to scale house . There wrote up for not having HAS MAT decals on truck , no HAS MAT endorsement on license , as regulators were on bottles - another ticket , no Inspection stickers on vehicle . Ended up over $500 fines and fact truck had to be towed as without all being fixed at scale - could not be moved by driving . In a 1/2 or 3/4 ton bottles laying down or hidden from view - would have been free sailing . In a 1 ton always the chance of attracting attention
