I have a late model 170 diesel that has a tired engine.  Today I  took the underslung exhaust off and put it on another tractor. I also swapped out the seat. I am thinking about parting it out if there is enough demand for used parts.  The final drives have a whine to them,  but the tranny is good ($750), Perkins engine needs overhauled (excessive blowby and front seal leak) but pump has been rebuilt ($500). Other parts available would include front end assembly ($250), power steering assy ($200), hood and side panels ($150), radiator ($200), 3pt and valves ($400), drawbar ($50), front pump ($200),  fuel tank ($50), and 18.4 x 28 rims and tires - Loaded ($400). Email me at ejons@comcast.net if you are interested in any of these parts.

I could probably be talked into the hood and side panels, and I'm on the west side of Washington.  Don't suppose you have a spare grill sitting around too???
wishful thinking, I'm sure.  I'll think about the hood, though.

Maybe someone might want to buy it while its still mostly complete. So what would it be worth if you didn't have to wrench it into pieces?

I'm sure Eldon is wise enough to NOT let go of the grill for it, LOL!  I also notice that the fenders are not on his list either!  Mike

Sorry I haven't gotten back to those that emailed...I had a full day hauling 140 concrete railroad ties...man those things are heavy! I will get answers to those who emailed in the next couple of days. I'd still like to make sure I sell a few more parts before I commit to parting this one out.

Anyway, JMM I have the grill, but  a little hesitant to sell it in case I ever have one fall off one of my other 3....the guy that designed that latch system deserves a swift kick in the ass....JC I thought about selling it as-is, but I could use a few parts off of it and it is definitely worth more as parts. MIke you are right! Claus, yes this one has the D17SIV fenders on it...might let them go for the right $$$$.

Hey Eldon, how's it going. Sorry, not interested in any 170 parts, but am wondering "What the heck are you doing with concrete railroad ties?"  Darrel

Darrel I am on the board of directors for a local Farm to School program which we just started.  The primary goal is to get as much locally grown food as possible into the public school system.  Another part of the program is to get the public and students involved, so we are developing a school farm.  Part of that will be raised beds, and I came up with the idea to use these cement ties as sides for the beds....they should be heavy enough not to move and also I can space them 5 feet apart and run my tractor and tiller down them.  They are made less than 2 miles from our garden site and they give away the rejects. I also brought some home so maybe I can grow some carrots now (I'm sure you remember pics of our gravelly soil).

Eldon, sounds like a pretty good deal. Should work. Good of you to step up to the plate and take on a venture such as that. Later. Darrel. P.S.   You coming through this way again any time in the near future?

Eldon does that tractor have a hammer strap?  Is it an original AC?

Well, I'd love a grill, but I completely understand.  I got mine with out the grill.  Found the grill years later on the same place buried under grass.  Ran over, of course.  Let me know if you decide to let it go, please!
