Were the D series the only series that offered that light (and I assume it was only on the series 3) ?? We ran a series 2 '17,'15,'19 and I ran a D14 for a neighboring dairy farmer and NONE of these units had that light ??

Used on D17 Series 3 and 4. Might be on D19, but not positive. Definitely not used on smaller D series tractors. It comes on when you put your foot on the clutch.

Yes it is also on D-19 tractors. I have a gas and diesel model and they both have it.

Thanks D for the info, to the later poster with multiple '19's , ours did not have the light or a knockout in the panel for a light as pictured ![]() Seems like there was a "green" light on the dash of some D series tractors, what did that symbolize ?

FREEDGUY: only 1 D series model used a green light. That was the D21, it acted as a transmission fluid level indicator. It stays on all the time when your trans oil is at an acceptable level. No other D series tractor used a green light, although a few 100 models continued to use it - 200 and larger.

Gee, I have never noticed the light come on with my series IV. Maybe the bulb is burnt. What is the purpose for it either on or off?

the pump in front of the PD sends oil to the filter on the rh side behind engine and located in the base is an on/off contact switch that relays the hyd system has oil and lube pressure to lube and cool the clutches. Light is on when engine is off/key on, or foot clutch depressed.

I have a Ser.IV D-17 and always wondered about this light. So if the filter starts to block flow the light will stay on. |
