Again I’m leaning on those with far more experience and expertise,

What are the best spark plugs to get for my hand crank 1947 petrol/tvo(heavy oil) b
Will probably only be running on straight petrol from now on

I put NGK B4 in both of my B's. One is crank star the other electric start. I have been happy with them.
Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!

Above is the best plug I found for my Allis-Chalmers. They start and run perfectly every time. They are a little pricey but they will be the last plugs you ever put in your tractor. The best price I've found is at Rock Auto.com. Autolite, Champion, and AC conventional tiped plugs are junk. I tried them all. I don't run conventional plugs in anything I own any more. Those are the right plugs for your B, just set gap at .035".

I've been running A7C Motorcraft plugs in my CA. The best thing you can do to reduce plug fouling is install a 195 degree F thermostat. A hot engine burns fuel cleaner and more completely. The next best thing is if you have distributor type ignition, update it to electronic. Running the engine hot and running .045 inch plug gaps has eliminated all of my plug fouling problems.
