My comments would be better placed in the politics section, so I won't  comment, subscribe, and certainly won't follow!

Very good job Austin , you deffinetly have the passion and want to ; to make all this a great project - sometimes i wonder about the AC management decisions , to build and spend all that money and i bet it never really paid off , just like other decisions management made thru the years ; jmo

I wonder what the address of that place was. Be interesting to see if it was still there.

Wow! This is very interesting and I enjoyed the great reading. I don't think that many who enjoy the Allis tractors understand the real scope of the Allis Chalmers family.

Very neat Austin, I know this took alot of time and dedication and I want to say thank you.

I noticed that the one picture of the 70th street office building whith the walk way it is labeled 1950's. Wouldn't it be atleast the mid 1960's because  Allis-Chalmers changed their logo for the final time in 1964 and put it across the walk way??

I never realized that there was an AC turbojet compressor plant over in good ol Terre Haute. No disrespect towards anyone from there, but it's an odd city with some odd people (and some pretty nice people, too). Here's an article from the Tribune Star:

1939 B, 1940 B, 1941 WC, 1951 WD, 1952 CA, 1956 WD-45

Wjohn, one of the specific reasons, for AC's downfall, was communist controlled labor unions.  To spite what some say, this IS the case, just read Walter F. Peterson's book, "An Industrial Heritage".   It's still available, in reprint, from the Milwaukee County Historical Society.  There are those who gloss over it to be politically correct, but I am not one.  This may kick the topic down to the politics section, but at least I was nicer than usual, and wish only for the truth to surface, not be glossed over!

I recommend Stephen Meyers "Stalin Over Wisconsin". I think it is pretty bold to say that communists were the specific reason for AC's downfall.

Son, do you want me to quote chapter and verse, again??  In our last argument you obviously hadn't read the book, just as you didn't read my last post.  If you had, you would see that I said "one of the specific reasons"  You do know why I call  you son, don'tcha?

I didn't read the book yet, no, but it is on shelf in the "to read" section and I will read it as soon as I finish reading the other books I have. Yea, I did read your last post, I can read and that is why I responded the way I did.

As for you calling me "son"...idk Dave. I have two hunches...

#A You are old and may be suffering from memory loss or alzheimers that you can't rememnber that my name is by my avatar.

#B You are a flat out rude and pathetic individual who does nothing but targets individuals to troll and post negative comments about. You of all people, having conservative principles, should know that things in life are EARNED not HANDED OUT. Guess what Dave...you won't earn my respect and I can't imagine many other people respect you on here either.

If you don't like my blog or what I have to say, don't read or listen. It's America. :) Have a good evening old timer.

You left out #C, I am just someone who reads a lot of what is on this forum, and does not like to see just one side of the issue presented.   In your blog you make a statement that the communists had nothing to do with the strike, at AC, but In Peterson's book, I suggest you peruse(read) page 344, where it describes the fate of  Mr Harold Christoffel, head of the union local 248.

I think you lack the maturity to post  based on logic, not feeling.  I know that I push your buttons, just right, but it is to make you think objectively.  As to your blog, I wouldn't have visited it, unless you had invited me to, by providing the link.

I don't need to earn your respect, and others can think what they want.  I will sign off now, son, (the reason I call you son, is because you are so bright, see???).
