Its like Flying the Space Shuttle...
![]() Peterbilt’s SuperTruck 2 features an aerodynamic shape with a center drive position to improve overall visibility, a right-hand entry stand-up door, pop-out windows, cameras in place of mirrors, and custom tires and wheels. Other features include a mild hybrid powertrain, a waste heat recovery system, and a lightweight chassis for improved fuel economy. The split-level integral cab and sleeper features a large, wrap-around dash, 15-inch digital dash display for virtual gauges and critical vehicle data, an additional display for HVAC, infotainment and navigation controls, an articulated seat that rotates left and right, and a pull-out desk. |

Talk about a maintenance nightmare when the computers and electronic gizmos start failing! One big EMP would cause a major shutdown. Operator overload from watching all those displays can be another problem........oh wait....they may just let it drive itself while the Operator takes a nap.

Manufacturers have lost ALL value of Sense. This is a Machine to get product from point A to B, does NOT have to be a technical freak show.
Basic gauges, Basic controls and Basic comfort mechanisms. Too stupid for reality. As well aerodynamics have negligible effect until reach 150mph so excess baggage loss of freight weight capacity and poor to unmanageable drive train heat control. |

Obviously the manufacturers have no idea what their customers want or need. Seems like a good way to soon be out of business!!

Ever since 'computers' got real powerful and cheap ( less than a buck... ) everyone tosses several in where ONE could do the needed jobs. Then they added the overly complicated and temper mental CANbus just to create even MORE problems. Chaos reigns !!! Jay
