As some are already aware I lost a cousin in December.  Mary Miller, who was never married, childless and Lesbian, non the less still my cousin and I garnered taking care of what she left behind the lesbian friends of hers gathered up for me.

What I have gotten fits into two Boot Boxes so next to nothing really, some keepsakes and a bunch of photographs.  I have sent the photos to my Cousin in UT and Niece in MO as to our side of her family where I have mailed a few letters to last name individuals of her grandparents on her Mom's side: Ventress was her Maiden Name..

Margaret was from East Alton IL, as were her parents Homer and Rose Ventress, actually lived just down the block from my Grnadmother's house until the 1960s, no idea as to any other family as no family history to review of, so asking MAYBE here someone in IL knows a Ventress Family or of one nearby that I may not have contacted.  Predominantly looking around Alton to Edwardsville up to Jerseyville or down to Belleville.

I knew a Mary Miller and her husband Jim that lived in Hannibal. Don't know if they are still alive. She moved to Texas years a go so I've lost track of them.        Leon

Yep, my Uncle had a Brood!!!  Had Homer and Rose Ventress for a starter, not much luck after that.  Found a Michael Ventress in Bethalto and mailed him, no response yet, is a Doctor S of Springfield, not certain where to mail to her yet but working that angle too.  Not found anything of Robert Ventress yet.

Grew up at 305 Broadway East Alton, Ventress lived across the street about twelve houses down at 322 even as I was growing up.  After divorce from Uncle Gene Margaret married Robert Stone, known Drunk.  She and he stayed together a few years then they too split.  Was friends with Bob's mother and daughter by a previous marriage as well.

There is a 'Dorothy Ventress' mentioned farther down in this Dec. 2018 Obituary.
