Synthetic motor oil

I’m a big supporter of synthetic oils in newer engines but not in the ole girls we all enjoy. Leaks will develop where they may not have been before or leak worse in areas that were already leaking. My hi horsepower Eagle Talon came from the factory with Mobil 1 synthetic in 1990. When I sold her she was still making 300 hp on a big turbo and tuner through AWD with 300,000 miles on it. It is some good stuff when the engine is engineered for it. Don’t ever switch from synthetic to regular oil, conventional oils do not have the same slippery properties as synthetic. I’ve seen several engines spin the bearings after as few as 500 miles when the owner decided to go to conventional oil because it was cheaper.
