Mornin'. I'm new here. Grew up on Fords in the 50's and early 60's, 8Ns, Jubilee, and a Minnie Moline trike. Been away from farming and tractors for 60+ years now. Just bought a '54 WD45 and a collection of odds and ends, 5' disc, box blade, scraper blade, etc. But a 3-bottom plow has me baffled. It's not configured for a 3-point hitch; in fact, it looks like it's set up for a 6-8 horse team (or one good mule  ). I hope there's a pic of it below and if anyone can shed light on it, I'd appreciate it. Leftover paint is orange, so I thought of AC as opposed to Kubota.

Appears to be missing the lift points to attach to the lift arms of your WD45

Thanks, folks! I've heard of snap couplers but wasn't familiar with them. Reminds me of the mid-to-late 60's. I was in Asia for Uncle Sam and, when I finally got back to the world, I didn't recognize the newer 'vettes 'cause they changed styling so much during those years.

Thank you, Pat. Coming back to the world in 1968 was not the most welcoming. My goodness, how things have changed!

Welcome to the forum. What does the other implements have for hitch. And what does the tractor have now for hitch. It originally should have been snap coupler that your plow would fit into.

Thanks, Mike. The other equipment is set up for 3-point hitch and so is the tractor. Bell hook has tongue attached, so I have choices for hookup which is nice although I still need to pick up a drawbar if I need it.

Welcome to the forum. Without the lift-arm links you aren't going to get much good out of it.

Yeah, I don't plan to use the plow. Just curious and surprised at how farm equipment has evolved in 60+ years. I bought this small farm to adopt retired standardbreds or quarter horses to live out their lives in peace and health like I hope to do. I grew up with quarter horses and the odd Chincoteague pony. In less than 6 months, I'll hit the big 80 years myself. I had my first young'n, a daughter, when I was 65 years old, so I ain't dead yet. I grew up around horses, chickens, pigs, and cows, but I never smelled anything like the first time I changed my daughter's diaper at 65! Here's a pic of the business end of my 45. Unless physics has also changed in 60+ years, I think it'll work.

Yeah, Steve. been planning to sell the plow and 5' disc from the gitgo. Well...maybe not the disc yet. Don't know. Was planning to fashion a step for the rear, then realized the tongue (some call it a drawbar - regional thing, I guess) acts as a nice step (will add anti-slip tape). Was thinking about converting trip bucket to hydraulic but will wait on that to see how we get along. Will add rear spotlight on fender, toolbox on left, outside rail near foot clutch, new 6V battery box (existing box looks like rusty spiderweb), box for exposed 12V battery (apparently added by PO for 12V starter), new hydraulic hoses all around with rear hydraulic fittings, sand and paint sheet metal, and whatever else I find. Just rying to treat the ol' girl right.

Welcome Bill and a big thank you for your service. Some folks switch em to 12v and change out the generator for an alternator. The starter will work on either 6v or 12v. My WD is still 6v and generator. The 12v does spin them over faster but I prefer to stay original since my generator still works well. My WD and D14, D17 are still snap coupler. Have 2 plows and a rear blade. Fair warning, these Orange tractors are addictive, before long you will have a herd of them!!!!! Great machines.  Enjoy Rob

Thanks ACMan. Yeah, i've noticed that ACs can be addictive. I cut my teeth on early Fords, so I'm learning a lot about ACs, mostly on this forum.

I run 8600’s and TW series Fords at my buddies farm when he needs help. Good tractors, but I still prefer my AC’s.
