will a starter off a WC Allis chalmers fit on a Allis WD45 I need to know if the one on the WD45 is bad  or not ?

Yes it will bolt up and the stater drive is the same, BUT the starter switch will be on the wrong side. I did this the other way around putting the 45 starter on a WC. I solved the problem by converting to a solenoid & starter button. Kip
