I could probably help you out, but you need to help me out first. What brand Starter motor is in your Tractor? Is there an ID tag on the unit? You first have to determine what you have first. Then you can see what your options are for a replacement. Such as a GRS or high torque unit. I thought a 35MT came in those Tractors but not sure till you shoot me and ID number off the tag...... I believe AC used both Delco and Lucas starters as original equipment on the 180/185.

Either a Delco or Lucas starter was Original Equip.
Nippondenso has replacement gear reduction units for both. They use different sized attaching bolts is why the need for what was original equip. Delco replacement is #028000-6780. Lucas, sorry but I don't have the number at hand.

My 185, and 6080 for that matter, both have Lucas starters. Not crazy about that but as they say, let sleeping dogs lie! If one quits working I'll look into the Nippondenso.
