Thanks Chris, You have some nice looking WD's in your barn.
The owner is happy with how she is looking too.
I was asked to take a lot of shots for the owner to have.

Not that I know of, the engine came to me in boxes and no electric pump in the pile of parts. lol

Did you ask this because of the oil pressure switch in the oil line ? Kinda got my attention also.

I installed the engine today so here's some more shots. The parts boxes are starting to empty out, but lots more work to go before she is a runner again.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
I'm not seeing it run for sometime, I still need to rebuild the Diesel trans/rear end that came in the tractor and change it out with the gas trans/rear end that's in it now, clean and repair the fuel tank and a long list of little things before she fires up from it's long nap of 10+ years of retirement; And I have three WD/WD45, three D14's and a engine overhaul on a D19 Diesel tractor all needing some of my time too.lol So I work on one tractor tell I need parts and just on one of the tractors that's parts have came in.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a 1956 WD45 Diesel which needs some work.   She runs, but has lot's of leaks (hydraulic rams, under the clutch housing, etc.).   Hand cluth does not work -- so I'm guessing I have lots to do with new seals, clutch plates, and the like.  My question for you guys is advice about the engine.   I'm quite certain diesel fuel is getting into the crankcase -- and have seen on this forum that that can come from a couple different issues (o-ring/seal) in the fuel pump.  I may be able to tackle that.  However, I'm wondering about a complete engine rebuild -- and am not sure I'd want to try that.    Anyway, here's my questions:
1)   Can I  (should I) leave the engine alone and just go after the the rest of the tractor?  Or, would that be short-sighted/folly.   As menetioned, it runs, but smokes a lot -- especially at first start-up.   The smoke color is not black, but not white either -- I'd say ~ grey.   The smoking comes down after the tractor warms up, but never really goes away -- and comes back again fairly heavy under load (road gear).    To me, it does not seem to have a lot of power,  but I've never actually pulled with it either.   As well, I believe some of that crank oil w/ diesel (or diesel from soemwhere else) is getting into first clutch housing -- is that possble (main bearing issue)?   I say this because last summer it started leaking (dripping) from the inspection port/thumb-screw under the clutch housing -- and I'm talking a couple gallons over a number of months now.  This oils is very thin as smells like diesel to me.

2) If the engire needs to be rebuilt.   Is there someone who still does this?   And/or can all the needed parts still be found if I or a local mechanic were to give it try?

Thanks for any advice/insights you can offer!
