We had one in the toolroom at Maytag, wish I would have taken time to learn how to use it. Some of the guys that did said it wasn't hard and a good way to build up a worn surface. Seems like a lifetime ago.

 The local Machine Shop that serviced most of the pump and compressor shafts for the refinery, used that Metalizing process to build up the shafts. They did that for many years,,and then one day they told us the guvment shut em down from using that process and we had to start sending out to a place in Texas that did the hard Chroming which was very expensive or buy new,,,,,Wink

 Same for re-chroming bumpers,,,,,kinda a thing of the past,,,,
