Thanks for posting the pics, good looking crawlers.
Always liked AC crawlers, first crawlers i ever steered was a early HD6E and a HD11EP..
Tryed for an apprentice mechanics job with AC dealer here in NZ in late 70s, missed out with them but got in with the cat dealer, consequently my crawlers are D4s and D6Ds. case of the devil i knew better. Looked at alot of ACs, but most had problems i didn,t like., that or a price i didn,t like. ! But am still on the trail of some HD6s E and B models.
Do own a AC 160 motor scraper that was converted to a towed scoop that works quite well.

When i first started looking for a crawler anything in Cat was out of my price range. Found a HD5G about a mile or so from my place and price was right, ended up driving it home across the fields and down the gravel roads.
Since then it's been easy to find AC equipment and the price has always been lower as the resale has never been good in this area but that has nothing to do with the quality of the machine. Same when i bought the AC 715B TLB, it was at least $7,000 cheaper than comparable Ford 555 hoe and I think a better unit.

Hi Coke.
I always liked AC. Alot of there engineering in the 60s and earlier was superior to cat.
They had lifetime sealed rollers, double reduction final drives and torque converters long before cat. Even in diesel engines AC had direct injection 20 years before cat did, then they were mainly forced by rising fuel costs. Plus they used common engineering instead of something special you had to get just from a dealer. Where cat won was there unmatched dealer backup, plus you could buy lots of used or pirate parts before you had to buy original.
Alot of HD 6 11 and 16s were sold in NZ as well as the earlier models. Is still a few people running them fulltime, but they all have aa collection of machines for parts. plus a network of friends with parts.
ACs all performed well, and were the prefered crawler for steep agricultural discing work. HD5 and 6s were far more stable on a hillside than any D4. Even today know of 1 farmer who uses nothing but HD5s for discing, both 2-71 and hotrodded 3-71 versions for crawling around the sides of hills with 6 aside 24 inch discs.

Certainly a nice collection of working crawlers. Series B 11 looks straight.
Is the first 11 a E or EC. couldn,t see the splitter lever on the floor a 11E would have ?
Late turbocharged one or 10000 engine. Also the last HD11 whats she and is this the same 11 being rebuilt in the shed or is that a 4th one ! !

Gidday Merv the first 11 is an early EC with 10,000 series engine and 7 roller track frame has also early type power steering clutches (different to later model EC's ) but had dry manual steering brakes , my dad bought this in about 1973 for $3000 and done a lot of work with it over the years , after he past away I had it for about 16 years and did a lot of work with it was a great old tractor nice to operate and very very reliable, I had to sell it about two years back, tracks were down ect and the bloke that bought it has since passed away ,I was sad to hear it has been sitting in flood waters up to the top of the bonnet for about three months,
The series B is nice straight machine has always been store in a shed has new track chains ,plates ,front idlers roller and segments , I am going to chang the canopy to rops style .
The last 11 is a very late ep that my friend Wayne owns , has serries style air cleaner , tourque convertor , and bolt on segments , he has spent about $80,000 on complete rebuild on engine ,torque conv , finals , tracks and sanblasted then two pac paint , it is as new.
