We have a bottom field where one can see numerous small snail shells. Suppose they are evidence of having been quite wet at one time? The area is underlaid with gravel now so no drainage is necessry. I would think that the calcium in the shells would dissolve in not a lot of years.

I get snails on the north side of my house eating on the mossy spots. I tried to colonize a bunch of them to the north wall of my polebarn but that didn't seem to work.

I am still confident of this;
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Ps 27 |

I appreciate the compliment. Believe it or not, I found that particular Snail on the acid-wet corroded post of a battery, peeled him loose, and placed him on the wooden surface where I took the pictures. The reason I know and remember this is that I first took his picture while on the battery post, but it didn't turn out so well.

A rich snail walks into a car dealershipThe rich snail wants something fast, elegant, and luxurious, after browsing Mercedes, Ferraris, Bugattis, and tons of other high end cars he decides on one. So the rich snail pays in cash and walks up to the dealerships auto body guy and says "I want you to paint big S's all the this car, big S's on the front, the sides, the back, the top, big S's everywhere. The auto body guy tells him he can do it sure, but can't help to ask the snail why he wants big S's all over the car. So the rich snail answers him "so when I fly past people on the highway, they point and say "WOW! Look at that S Car Go!!" |

One day a man comes home from work and there's a snail on his bottom step. He doesn't think much of it. The next day the snail is on the second step, he wonders what the snail is up to. On the 3rd day he comes home and the snail is half way across his porch. Oh no you don't he says, and picks up the snail and throws it across the yard as far as he can. 4 years later, the snail is on the bottom step waiting. The guy comes home and the snail says, "What the hell did you do that for?!"
