Do any of you know if they put SN's on these loaders and if so where are they? I am trying to find what I have I just got a book in the mail today on it and says nothing on the SN or the placement of it. The decals are wore off on it so I was hoping to find a sn. Thanks Eric

Far as I know they were not serial numbered. I used good parts books, pictures, etc to ID mine. They have enough differences that usually allow for a elimination of models until you figure what you have there. Post a picture the experts will tell you what you have.

It is hard to tell for me if it is a 415 or a 417 they look so close and both fit on a 17. I am hoping it is a 417. I will have to get pictures of it and the 17. Been a member for seven mounths and no one has seen a picture of it. I would say it is long overdue.

1st Q is; Does it have the resevoir built into L frame? I'll assume it does not. Q #2, Are the diagonal braces round or flat? Q #3 Are there any AC trademark labels on the frames about 1/2 way down from top? Q #4 Are the grease fittings on the pin's 1/8" or 1/4" drive in type?

It looks like the strap that connects RH/LH frame at top is same reguardless of model 415/417, that said, I think the frames were spaced the same with "narrow tractors making up difference with spacers.

Mine has a serial number on it. It is on the inside of the right hand boom close to the front cross member on a small plate.

The 415 and 417 rear mounting brackets were not the same. Different confrig and were longer. Also, I think the cross brace on the top was offset to clear the air cleaner intake on D17? Dale

Chris?CT you are right in the book it talks about the spacers mine dont have any. From your other ?'s it has the hyd. tank built in sitting on the tractor it is on the left side. brases are flat. All the decals are off. and the grease zerk I dont know. The loader is a 415 or a 417 I am just trying to find out the diff. in the two. I am going to restore the 17 and I am going to fix the loader up also and put it back on. That is why I am asking, mostly I what to put the curect decals on. Eric |

Parts book shows cross strap at top frames w/ offset for 517 loader only. My 1/2 A## opinion is there was a Prior 417 frame and a Later 417 frame w/ the later 417 fro the D-17 Ser4/175/etc. Early 417 w/resevoir for 15/17's with aux. pump ?? Decal's changed slightly on later models. Discontinued white tape border on early/all models, added AC Tradmark diamond 1/2 way down frames?
