I've got an Allis C and have a sickle bar mower mounted underneath the belly. Would it make sense if I put on 1 of the side engine weights(opposite side of the bar) to try and counter balance the sickle bar. The only reason I ask is that I've got a flat spot on top of a hill that I'd like to mow off in my pasture. On the side of the hill a road has been cut into it. The only problem is at the very top of the road on the hill is a little slope. So I think the side weight would balance out the tractor a little better. Any suggestions?

It sure wouldn't hurt!
I put a piece of railroad track on the side of my little Ford garden tractor
when I mount the 4' sickle bar on it.
I have thought many times about putting some weight on the opposite side of
my WD-45 with the 82S sickle bar on it. I mow some really steep banks and I have to be very, very careful that I either mow with the bar up the hill or, if I mow with the bar down the hill, I don't lift it 'til I get "leveled out".
Many of the county and state roadside mowers have substantial weights installed
to stabilize them when mowing banks.
