Pulled the overdrive clutch apart today. In between the magnet and the rotor, i fould four pieces of what i thought was some kind of a spacer that broke. Now i am not so sure it is broken. Each piece is exactly 90 degrees of a circle. They are 3/8 of an inch thick and an inch wide. They are all exactly the same size and i am pretty sure there is orange paint on the ends. Its not made of a metal i recognize, maybe there are carbon? Anybody left alive with experience?

Never worked on a rotobaler electric clutch, but in the lawnmower world there is such a thing. Sounds like the asbestos(likely) has un-bonded from the steel...
