Topic: ring & pinion swapPosted: 23 Feb 2011 at 2:29pm |

i have a wd45 with a 13:43 ring/pinion combo and i was wondering could i swap in a ring/pinion combo 7:32 out of a wc???? i know a combo out of a wd45 diesel or a d17 would fit and it would be 9:35 which would be 9% slower. better yet if i could find a combo out of a RC at 5:33 which is suppose to be 30% then a WC. so is it worth the effort to swap for a wc to a wd45 ??
thanks rob

I don't think it will work. Or someone would have already done it. I think I read on here once that the wc finaldrives and the wd wd45 ones have a different ratio as well. I think the steepest gearing is a wd45d rear end. a wc highcrop or with rc gears is very close. Unless you put in a shurman underdrive in a wc-rc greared tractor.

You can't put a WC or RC ring & pinion in a WD45 or vice versa.

WD45 diesel ring&pinion is the same as any older D17 R&P and will fit any WD45 rearend case and slow all gear speeds down about 15%. |
