    Posted: 24 Mar 2018 at 2:45pm
Like always in the Winter time in South Dakota, it was a bitterly cold day. It had snowed all nite and continued to blow as I stepped up onto my D-17 Patrol (Road Grader - Serial Number D4555).   She started immediately and settled into a gentle purr, just like ole Roscoe my Tom Cat...!   Too bad he's not around anymore.   But that's a story for another day!

I shifted and lifted the blade, only to realize the I had forgotten to block the blade and that the wheels where frozen to the ground.   Neglecting to properly adjust my headscrew that morning, I now require a ring and pinion for my Patrol.   I'm sure all you sharp Allis Fans can read between the lines on this one. YUP!! DAH as my children would say....!

She's now in the shop, warm and snug, just waiting for a donor.   Hopefully, something will appear before all the snow disappears.

If you can help me, or know someone who can, please let me know!

Thank you so much kind sir!

I will contact them tomorrow.

As for the cab, I'll be coming that way on 25 April.   I would love to inspect the cab.   I'm also toying with the idea of adding a creeper gear.   Do you know of anyone that's done this and what the pitfalls are?
