I have a new set of four rail, 13 X 28 spinout rims that I bought from Tony a couple years ago, with the intention of putting them on my WD. I've since picked up a 170 with nearly new tires, and pretty rough rims. Lettering on the tires is "18.4-28 on 16" rim, 15 X 28". My question is will that width tire fit the 13 X 28 rims or do I need to go up to the 15 X 28?
Thanks! |

Most D-17's and 170's with 16.9 x 28 tires had 13 inch wheels.

18.4's will fit on 13" rims, 15" are better, 16's are preferable. They are kind of hard to find though. In my rim project thread I removed a pair of 16.9's from 11" rims and remounted them on 13's. As the Doc said, that was standard for D-17's.
