I came across a 1958 D14.  It has a fresh motor overhaul.  Perfect pro repaint.  New muffler and steering wheel. Solid wide front and 3 point.  New front tires and very good rears.  Looks like a new tractor.  I would love to have it.  Being sold at auction.  What would it bring in your area?  My guess is $5000 plus.  I am tempted at 5 gees.  am I crazy?

What would it cost to do all the work that has been done to that one? Probably over $5K
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Well, if its the one on e-bay that's for sale, I would think that Tractor is well worth 4-5K. By the time you bought a $600. beauty to restore, you'd have at least 4-5K in it. I would keep an eyeball on that little bugger and see how high the price goes. If you want it bad enough, go for it and bid on it!  That's a nice machine....

If it's the one I found on ePay, it's at 2900 now. Yeah looks pretty BUT overspray on the rear rims. THAT really bugs me. Since he didn't take the tires of and properly 'restore' the rims what else wasn't 'restored' ? OK, I'm cynical..grumpy cause next year I'll be 65 but unless he shows a desk full of receipts and PICTURES how is anyone to KNOW what went into the engine, tranny, etc. Thick shiny paint can hide a multitude of bad, for maybe 3-4 months of use.
I know I could easily dump 10,000 Canucks into one of my D-14s to have someone truly restore it.That ain't about to happen unless a whack of cash comes my way.

dito.  I don't remember who or when it was, but I remeber a member buying a CA (I think) that was "totaly restored". ended up having to put a bunch of money and work into a "restored" machine.
Just cause it's orange don't make it a tractor, there's only one..Allis Chalmers
