I had to rebuild a carb for my old WD last week, it had a Marvel tsx464 on it. The problem I am having is the power adjust needle needs a new packing where the small packing nut tightens down around the valve handle. The carb rebuild kit did not supply this part. Is this available? What have you others done in the past? It has a steady drip of gas and I am afraid to tighten it any tighter for fear of breaking the valve. Dave.

I could be wrong David, but I used teflon tape around the threads on the needle itself cause I think thats where it was leaking from. John

I have used a small "0" ring in there. Just went to local parts store and they had a good variety to choose from. Been working great.

Try winding a packing from waxed string like dental floss.

I have made packing out of teflon tape for sediment bowl valves, don't know what the long term effect of gasoline but so far I've out lived them.

had same problem a while back, I have an old set of leather punchs, took a piece of old leather, punched out a 3/16 in piece, took a 1/16 drill bit(new one) hand drilled a hole in the center of the leather piece, then used a fingernail file to bring it down to size. Best to work under a magnifer if your eyes not as good as they used to be. Worked great. took a little time and effort, but it doesn't leak...

I've used waxed cotton thread that is for leather stiching with success.

I went with the o-ring idea after Freddie L. called and straightened me out. It seems to work fine.
