I think it's a 98....my 97 R6267181. The last 3 digits are production #. The 7 is the last digit of year. I don't know if the first # after"62" is month?

98 would start with “68”. Yours appears to be a 92.

Thanks everyone. Dale & Ryan, I assumed that R62 from the serial number, stood for model number only. So does R6 represent model, and then serial numbers follow - where the 2 denotes 1992? Please also explain the 1993 year/serial code. |

R62 started in 1992 and ran till 2002
1992- 18*** 1993- 63*** 1994- 64*** 1995- 65*** 1996- 66*** 1997- 67*** 1998- 68*** 1999- 69*** 2000- MJ62*** 2001- HK62*** 2002- HL62*** All started with R62 then actual serial number. From 1993-1999 the second digit denotes the year, from 2000 on AGCO adopted a letter system like the automotive world, the second letter tells year. Also from 1993-1995 you had an option of Deutz Air Cooled or Cummings Liquid cooled engines and there would be an A or L on the end to denote which engine

A 1998 model would have been PAINTED, not galvanized.
