Are you asking me if I put a 20 amp fuse in the fuse holder? Or there wasn't one in there. Thought I put a 20 amp in there...

I hate pin plugs. Not much contact surface. As soon as corrosion gets in em' problems start. With the flat bladed 56 series Delphi plugs, you have a lot more contact surface. Put a little Dielectric grease in them, and you'll probably never have a connection problem!

Good grief! Stator n' all!  Might as well leave it together Dave. I'll look it over and figure it out when it arrives.

Really the whole harness is in good shape. It just doesn't plug and play with Steve's system. Seemed like a good opportunity for steve to get a pattern and me to get a new one while the engine is out

Don't know where you would find one, but I'd bet there is an extraction tool to remove those pins from that plug. That would be the easiest way to take care of the problem. Just have to hope the wires from the plug into the stator are in good condition.

got pulled steve but the stator is part of the harness.  do you have any issues repinning it?  or maybe make your harness 2 part to leave the stator/voltage regulator as a seperate leg with a plug in?

David

Dave, you da' man! That would be great also. Maybe we can figure out these machines a little better. It's a learning curve for all of us!!  LOL!

Yup that sounds good, I will get the original ccka harness sent to you this week.  It has never been molested.  And I have been really happy with the engine harnesses.  Would you want me to send back the front half cckb engine harness?  It's not going to do me any good any way.  I will try and take pictures of how the ccka harness is routed as well for your reference.

Yeah, that would be great Dave if you would! The other harnesses, cables are already on their way to ya. There's somethin' with these 616's I can't put my finger on yet with the wiring. I can't get one that isn't cobbled up to start off with to actually see the differences that are in the early harnesses. I'm a stickler for being accurate but there seems to be two different harnesses up front on these early machines. I haven't found that problem with the 620/720's yet. Maybe the engine difference? Somethin' is goofy somewhere's. I'll find it...

The Marine wire I use does not have "tracers" on it (the white stripes) but I do match the main color for color on the connections to make it easier to install. So far, our customer's who purchased our 620/720 harnesses are real happy with the installs. This is a good thing. That's what I wanna hear. If we have a problem, we just make a revision that's all...

Steve, just a side note but when I installed the new harness in my other 616 with a cckb I matched the color's of your harness to the chassis harness on the tractor and it did function correctly.  The only difference I saw was your red wire versus the original red with white stripe.

Yeah it's a 616, do you need an engine harness to copy?  I'd rather do this right while the engine is out.

Okay, hold on here a second. You're working on the 616? The 616's  wiring is different in spots. Looking at the fuse tells me that's a 616 harness according to the wiring diagram. A 620/720 wiring is different than the 616's wiring. And one of the spots is the charging area. A couple other spots is in the dash area. I don't have a 616 harness yet to see the differences, only the wiring diagrams, and the diagrams aren't that clear to see. I'll need to chat with ya on the phone and have you shoot me a couple pics to see exactly where the differences are. If you're trying to make a 620/720 section fit, its not the same. That's the main reason I don't offer a 616 harness yet. Just for the 620/720.

I'm not following you on the run new wires into the new connectors.  The new small engine harness will not plug into my charging system and I'm not sure which wires go where.

Dave,
I'd run new wires into new connectors and plug in. The Yellow circuit that incorporates the circuit breaker comes on my new Starter cable and eliminates the need to run off the solenoid...
