I am looking to replace my father’s 766D open station tractor with an AC with cab – heat/air.  He runs ~30 head of cattle and bales ~ 200 – 300 large bales a year (540 JD baler).  He will need a front-end loader.  He is 84 years old, but in good general health. Has allergies to hay.

He needs the heat in the winter, and the air in the summer while baling, too much dust for his lungs.

I was thinking of 7010/20/30, or 8010/20.

This sound right for his needs?  Lives in north central Kentucky.  Let me know if you hear of anything.

Thanks,

Roscoe

6080 would fit perfectly , a lot lighter than the 7010,20 ; a little more money but worth it , they are great haying tractors and easy on fuel too

You can't go wrong with an 8000 series. Nicer cabs than 6080 or 7000.

Power shift may be easier for him to drive.

The John Deere store in campbellsville, ky has a 6080 cab tractor they just traded a new tractor for,it came from a local farm about two miles from me,they are asking $ 8500.00 for it,good rubber on it, but the tractor is a bit on the rough side, you could talk to the former owner,he would tell you about it .

PS's makes loader work fun. A 7045, 7060, 8030, or 8050 would be a good choice for him. He would like the air cylinders on the 8000's to help open the cab doors. The doors on the 7000's can and will fall back shut on you. And that hurts.

an 8000 series Powershift sounds to me like the ticket.

about the easiest cab to get into in that era, so that helps.

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.

If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help.

my 7010 is a great all around tractor, just replaced all the air cond hoses and compressor this last year...lasted that long since new! it's real good on fuel too! I like the steps into the cab, big and wide! just walk right in.
