It was too wet to get in the fields last fall and too wet and too much snow all winter. Finally finished up with the F2 today. I had one chain come off and do a little damage but other than that went well. Yields weren't very good and I'm going to get docked for a little mold damage but happy it's out and sold. Moisture was 14.7% and last Fall people were getting 25-28% moisture.

perfect moisture. Glad you got it finished up. Won't be long until we start the whole process over again. I hope the season is a little more "normal" this year. Whatever normal is anymore!?!?
------------- If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!

Good deal Byron! I was just thinking about last fall and it was indeed terrible harvest weather here in illinois as well (for the same reasons you mention) Byron, after reading your post I was also thinking that you may just as well have been better off waiting until now giving it time to get to 14% when you think about it, it would have brobably cost more to dry it otherwise and with the long lines at the elevators last year mold was still begining to be a problem (at least it was here in Illinois) Dennis. As an afterthought no sooner did you get the combine put back in the shed and now you will have to get the planter out again LOL!!!!

Hey Byron not to change the subject but while I'm thinking of it how is that new little baby doing over there? you might not believe this but I was thinking about that the other day. Dennis.

The last day of harvest is always a good day. Sunny warm day here in Illinois anyway. 2009 was one for the record books. Yes, it is too soon to start another season. I am not in the mood for it yet.

Eric, I agree. I'm not quite there in the mood yet either. Probably cause I just finished combining. I'll tell you what though, those fields look especially golden in drab of late Winter/early Spring and it is kinda pretty.
Dennis, Yes, I feel fortunate to have gotten an ok harvest and not too bad of mold and good moisture. The experts last year said the corn wouldn't dry down over winter and they were way off on this one. Guys have been combining around here pretty consistent for the last two weeks getting stuff off.
Are you talking about my son or some peace of equipment I got? LOL My son is doing great. He's 17 months old and just a blast to have. He loves tractors, toy tractors and looking at tractor literature. Every time we walk by my AGCO he points to it and says "Go, Go, Go!" LOL I love him like crazy.
Thanks for asking.
Byron
