How do you know if you are supposed to have a under the hood muffler or a regular one?

If you are suppose to have an under the hood the hole in the hood will be small compaired to the later ones that went through the hood.

Before serial # BE43896 the B used a straight pipe. From that serial # to CE114400 (1950 model year) they used the under hood muffler (210081) and after that serial # they used a 225341 muffler. Ca used the 225341 until CA 33430 and then changes to a aluminized 227240. Bob
