How do I Loosen the TRACKS on a 1965 HD9B, Thank you for your help

The big rod pushing the idler ahead on the track frame is threaded on the back .The front has a hex to let a wrench get a bit on it.Most likely will have pipe wrench marks behind the hex.The  HD5 of the same age have a trapezoid shaped nut that has 2 bolts that pull the nut back locking the shaft from turning with vibration. I don't remember if the HD9 has the same lock or not but there is a lock somewhere.Good luck as a place where things rust and if not turned in 20 years may take a lot of lose juice and a big pipe on your wrench.

All brands used the same system ,and all changed to the hydraulic style at about the same time.The hydraulic adjusters have there problems as well.
