So I saw a thread last fall here on what some would be working on while the snow flew. Anyone have a completion or an update? Me?,,,well I WAS unemployed (for 14 months!)so that put the skids on any money spending,,,however,,there's a happy ending to MY winter!!!,,I just secured employment and now have a GOOD job!!! Congratulations on the new job. My project for the winter was to get the 35WC hauled to somebody who could complete it for me. I think he has everything except the fenders and fender brackets. I hope to see it run early this summer.

My CA got new brakes, pinion seals, and the handclutch cleaned. Also replaced the beat up hood with one that was not nearly as beat up. Its ready for work this summer.
My 2nd D12 rehab got new brakes, pinion seals, electrical system O'haul, rebuild the upper steering gearbox, new seat/battery box/rockshaft frame, rebuilt pivots for the rockshaft and a new aftermarket seat. Put it away for better weather. Its now back in the shop to get a head O'haul, hang on a nose weight, and get the rear fenders fabbed and hung. Should be ready to pull a plow and disc by the time the frost and water in the ground is gone.
My D17D got a new inector line, freed up eccentric locks, and new tank heater. Its ready for work also.
Also put an additional 1,100 miles on my snowmobile and went to Mexico fishing for a week.

Good luck with the new job Larry. I was laid off for 7 months myself and just got back to work 6 weeks ago. Thanks guys!,,what even BETTER?,,,the safety guy has a restored WD45,,and is an Allis fan,,(he WILL be at Dale's this summer),,the guys in the control room?,,one has a D17 and is restoring it,,TWO of the mechanics are Allis fans and have WD's,,one has an Oliver 77 too,,,it's like not only did I get a great job,,,I also landed in Allis heaven!!!!!!!!! ------------- www.allischalmersmuseum.com |

Got the 1935 WC carb problems solved,plus touched up the wheels on it. Checked over D17 puller,had to get new battery for that. Detailed and serviced 8070. Plus restored a 1949 G,its about 97% completed, just need to finish up wiring for tail light and rebuild headlight and make wiring for it. It will be at Sublette next Sunday with or without headlight!!

| I planned to put new bearings, seals and brake bands in the rearend of the 37 WC, only managed to get one axel done. Got most of the gaskets made, could do that in the warmth of the house. |

I just finished my $3 Wisconsin AKN small engine today. It only needed a valve job and a carb kit. I picked up an ACN that is good bug repellent at the same auction. I have to confess I have not done very much this winter on tractors, I did get started on the High Crop B but a long way from finished, oh well I have 4 months!!!!! | I put new siclebar on 80R mower along with new bearings. Took apart aircleaner on WD45 and cleaned the wire mesh and put it back together, fixed head lights so they stayed tight in their mounting points, had to do a little welding on the mounts to fix cracks. Replaced broke leaf spring on old ford pickup.. John |

We had a mild winter and would have been a good time to get a lot of repairs done, but I ruptured a disc in my back in November that pretty much took two months out of my winter to heal. Fortunately I got better without surgery. I did get a 175D set up for my new tilling tractor and started parting out the 170D that it replaced. I also volunteered to help get a new "farm to school" program started in our school district and it has taken a lot more of my time than I anticipated. Now I just need to get a few oil changes done and a couple of greenhouses put together.... ------------- ALLIS EXPRESS! This year: |

Well guys not a big fan of the cold so i dont have many winter projects (dont have a good shop but need one BIG TIME) spent last summer re-doing and "costomizing" a 7080 and the summer before re-doing my WD-45 (had 9 days in it) ive been wanting to get pics on here but the 7080 pics are too big il get some for ya i think you all will like my 7080 il bet anyone its one of a kind its on youtube (before and after) if ya want to see it my 7060 is too send me a pm il tell ya how to get there. Made lots of progress on the barn project and actually have done some minor repairs on the SC blade that's hanging on the back of the D14. Right now the C is in the shop getting brake housings emptied (mice, etc), carb rehabbed (float valve leaks) and gas tank replaced (neighbor's tree fell on it). Then it'll be the CA's turn...... After about two years of sitting in the middle of my small barn I got my CA running again... I put on the full carhart suit and braved the PA cold. It was a long haul... Self ground the crankshaft with a winona in-block grinder and bought a rebuilt kit as my 2009 xmas present, sleeves, bearings, valves... About 2 weeks ago I got it running and drove it out of the barn, boy its nice to have that space back... Many more things to fix on it but at least its mobile. And now I can get my C out since the CA was blocking it. So, it was a succesful winter. I think this is it for tractors, 6 is the limit and one dozer... WC,C,CA,WD,D17,HD6G |

My buddy and I worked all winter restoreing a 55 G for me and a 55 wd 45 for him. Had them both apart at once in the shop. Pretty cool to have two Allis's apart at once and bring them back to better then new condition. Made prime and paint go easy. We could paint some of my parts and some of his all in the same day. Mine is 98% done and will be at the sublete show sunday I hope, my buddies is 95% done, need new fenders for it and a good set of rear tires. cool your jets!! we hav'nt even had the high school basketball turnyments(sp) yet, if more snow is had, it will be a blizzard during turnyment(sp) week ------------- I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science. |

Ernie, I'm a little in the same boat as you. I want to insulate my shop so I can have some heat in there, getting $1700 back from tax return. Wife wants to pour our basement floor. The christmas blizzard I tried to blade out. A complete waste of time because I didn't have chains and a 1/2 inch of ice under the snow. I have done it a hundred times, but I have a hill with 20' drops on each side and sliding down backwards made an impression this time.
Chains practically fell in my lap "free" and very good chunky ones. I had to make them fit,
but hey, free versus $500, I can put in a couple of hours.
Saw the manifold is really crap. Got a new one. Haven't changed the fluids in awhile. Did that. Fixed a few leaks. Put brakes on it. Didn't really need it but did it anyway.
got the 3point in alot better shape for brush cutting.
Plugs, wires, cap, etc.
Then decided I needed power steering.
Found that, got it on. Works beautifully.
I have a different tractor now.
All I need now is a front end loader.
I'm working on it slowly.
Anyone has one for sale for a WD, let me know.

Two weeks ago, the Mrs & I took a trip to Ia & MN via St.Louis, KansasCity, Omaha, SiouxCity, SleepyEye, NewUlm, Nicollett, then back through Waterloo,IA QuadCities, Peoria, and then back home. One big loop. We stopped in Paris, IA and picked up a sweet 433T engine off a gleaner combine, then stopped in Hector,MN for a set of planter Ausherman Terra Tine row cleaners. It was a great getaway for us from our Illinois winter blues. It was a very a beautiful drive up the Missouri river bottoms & loess hills. MN had a huge amount of snow - most I have ever seen. Some rural snow drifts were 10' tall & 30-40' long!! New Ulm, MN has great local brewery - August Schell Brewery. We took the tour and bought a few cases to bring home. Also, it is a great town for German Food.. Stopped in Nicollett, MN at Schmitzs meat market and picked up a basket of meat sticks, summer sausage, & brauts.
My son was home from college last week for spring break. Together, we redid our AC 706D ignition system. New switch, starter, battery cables, & 2 batteries. It now starts when you turn the key - Yeah!! Best part - good talks with my son about college basketball & about some of the girls that he has been dating. We also drank a few of the Schell beers.

| Put air cleaner on D10, fixed rear tire on 7010, put an MTD snowblower on AC917, rebuilt 3 marsh pumps, split some wood, didn't get the Farm-All 460D overhauled yet, or the WD45, oh, I plowed snow, put ball joints in my 350 super duty. Helped dad put engine back in Jeep. Got 3 or 4 sinus infections. Fixed a couple water leaks. I'm sure I forgot something. |
