My son has gotten himself a wild hair and decided he wants to buy a skid-steer loader. He has found a Gehl, 2005 model. I don't know the model, but it is 60+HP, has rubber tracks approx. 50% left. Rollers and sprockets are still decent. Has enclosed cab with heat and AC . Needs window for cab door. Around 1,900 hours. Comes with 18' tandem axle trailer, 12,000 LB cap. (I think)

Has toothed bucket(not sure of size), rock picker, and one other attachment.(forks, I think)

Any ideas on a fair price(owned by individual). Most importantly, does anyone have any input on these, positive or negative? How hard are parts to find around Northeast GA? I have run several Bobcats, New Hollands, and Cases, but no experience with Gehl. Where are they made?

I'm not a big fan of that oil cooled dutz engine. I like the Case Cummins.

HMM, did you say Deutz engine? Strike one! Kubota diesel in Bobcat seems to hold up pretty good too. Don't care for the hand controls on Case too much. Gehl supposedly has joysticks with pilot over controls. Not sure if I would like that. Used to Bobcat and NH foot controls for arms and bucket.

I'm hearing they are pretty much Takeuchis with Yanmar engines. Seems tro be a pretty tight machine. Going to take me a little while to get used to the joysticks after so much time on a Bobcat(733, rubber tires). Left joystick has all track controls. Right has all boom controls. 2 speed ground drive is nice, so is variable hydraulic flow controls. Heat and AC is a neat thing to have, but I can see why the front window got broken. Too easy to let trees come in with you. I think it will make him a nice machine. We will get new tracks and sprockets on it soon.
