I have a DA SM55 disc mower that I inherited. Does any one have any experience good or bad that they would want to share?

I think back in the day they were OK.   We had a little bearing trouble in the bar which casued a vibration, other than that if it isnt worn out it'll cut just about anything.  Kinda hard on knives too. HTH

It is a Fahr unit -  shaft driven with modular spiral bevel pinion gear$ - Make sure the double stack bearings are tight in the inside and outside as the bar bed should be rock solid with no movement allowed. The outter hat should have no play. Keep the bed oil level up.  If the unit has any vibration it will self destruct in a few acres.  IT is getting to be a well experienced unit.

Does anyone have a source for manuals for one of these?
