I have finally got my 64' A2 Gleaner running.  I bought a 262 engine out of an early F from my parents neighbor.  It ran good, just needed to be mounted to the A2 engine cradle.  Once I got it mounted to the cradle (which I painted while it was off) I was able to use a forklift and mount it to the combine.  I did have to adapt the fuel line as the two carbs were slightly different.  I also used the rotary screen (in front of the radiator) off of the F as I believe it will work better in corn.  Finally got it all wired up, fuel lines mounted, filled coolant, and fixed batter cables I got it to run.  Two nights ago I was able to drive it under its own power (probably the first time in 10 years it had moved under its own power).  I just got one hydraulic line repaired (from pump to header) so hopefully I can get the 240 corn head off and switch it to the 330 head.  I also plan to pull the cover off of the threshing cylinder and have a look see at the cylinder bars.  I may end up turning them around if they are wore too bad.  I am planning on giving it a workout this fall on two patches (one 4.5 acres, one 5.5 acres).

Adam, Good to here the A2 is up and going.
I had to put wheel weights on my A to keep the steer axle on the ground with a 330 head on her.
I used WD front wheel weights on mine.
