In adapting the WD front pulley to go on the Gleaner motor, it looks like the pulley will not go on far enough to allow the bolt to go into the hole in the crank. Every conversion I have seen moves the hole on the pulley to match the crank...however can one just machine out the front of the pulley to allow it to go on the crank and match the hole already in the pulley and crank? Clear as mud I know but I hope you guys know what I'm talking about...

We generally machine the pulley out to match the original holes. It doesn't take much.

Thanks, That's what it looked like to me, but I thought I would ask the experts here on the list!

If you use the original hole in your pulley your belts wont line up. Once you have the bore opened up to fit the crank, you'll need to relocate the hole in the pulley. I think it was 7/16th's or a half inch off on mine.

Are you using the water pump off of the WD? If not you will need to. just drill the holes out in your pump to fit the bigger bolts.

Yes

That is exactly what I did.  A local high school did it for me in their machine shop.  You will no longer be able to start it with a hand crank though...
